Despite its divergent field design of blossoms linked by delicate twigs, this impressive Bokhara silk embroidery can be classified as part of the group of large medallion Suzanis, as can be inferred from the style of drawing, colour scheme and technique with the motifs executed in basma stitch and the outlines embroidered in ilmok stitch as well as the design of the wide border. Less than ten examples of this very rare sub-group are known. Backed with fabric, good condition, only minimal repairs.
