Samarkand Suzani
This small, square-formed piece of embroidery was initially an ornamental cover to put on the table, under which would stand a heat-producing sink of charcoals. This kind of tables is called "Korsi" or "Sandali". This is why a textile like this would be called "Sandalipoush". As a small exemplary masterpiece from Samarkand, the piece is perfectly drawn and made of first-class colours; also well-preserved.
