Description

Bokhara Suzani

Origin:
Central Asia, South West Uzbekistan

Dimensions:
285 x 157 cm

Age:
First half 19th century

Estimate:
8,500.00 €

The long format of this very beautiful Bokhara suzani in subtle light shades is striking. In the field, a diamond lattice design is densely filled with abundantly flowering stems; the central eight-pointed medallion is only discovered upon closer inspection. – Good condition, the original edges have survived undamaged all around. Slight signs of age, small stains. A strip of the former fabric backing is preserved at the top only.
